This is the second year in a row that Brent's race team has built a special Ford Mustang and fueled it on E-85 to break land speed records. Last year his E-85 Mustang became the worlds fastest Mustang when driver Danny Thompson piloted it to over 252 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Hajek Motorsports, Ford Racing, Wood Brothers, Bud Moore and NASCAR driver Bill Elliott teamed up to establish a closed course speed record on E-85 with the reconfigured Bonneville land speed Mustang at Talladega Super Speedway.
On the second attempt Elliott crashed the car ending the day but not before he established an E-85 record of over 170 mph. The car has been fixed and they are ready to try it again this spring. This time the famous Woods Brothers NASCAR team has partnered with Brent to accomplish this new record and once again Elliott will attempt to break his own record.
October 11, 2009 Hajek Motorsports entered the record book at Bonneville Salt Flats with a record breaking run of 255.764 mph and a exit speed of 258.410 mph. Not only did we get in the record book, but we got there with the car being piloted by Danny Thompson son of Legendary Mickey Thompson.
